House moved to Old Cahawba
Archaeological Park by Clay Fauver's House Movers

The Greek Revival cottage was moved from Valley Grande (Just north of Selma) to the Old Cahawba Archaeological Park, Orrville, Ala
(map).
The cottage measured 19½
x 48 feet x 18½ feet high. In addition to moving the 1850s structure, Fauver raised the visitor center at Old Cahawba an additional 32 inches.

Over the years, Clay Fauver's House Movers has been entrusted with moving many historic significance buildings as well as residential and commercial structures of all types and sizes.

Cahawba Archaeological Park

Cahawba was once Alabama's state capital (1820-1826) and a thriving antebellum river town. It became a ghost town shortly after the Civil War. Today, it is an important archaeological site with picturesque ruins.
